A tender chuck roast slow cooked in crushed tomatoes, onion soup mix, garlic, and a splash of balsamic for a rich, savory sauce. This slow cooker recipe is perfect for busy days when you need dinner to cook itself.


Ingredients
- 3–4 lb chuck roast (or tender chuck roast for a leaner cut)
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 28 oz crushed tomatoes
- Splash balsamic vinegar
- Splash soy sauce
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Add the roast to the bottom of your slow cooker followed by garlic powder, onion soup mix, crushed tomatoes, vinegar, and soy sauce.
- Set your slow cooker to low heat and cook for 8 hours.
- In the slow cooker, use a structured spatula or wooden spoon to break apart and shred the roast into the flavor juices, it should easily fall apart.
- Salt to taste and serve with rice or mashed potatoes. You can also serve in hoagies as a beef sandwich topped with melted provolone.
